Dian sastro wardoyo is one of the best young actresses in Indonesia.
She started her career as a model in 1996, after winning the model search contest held by a teen magazine GADIS.
Dian was first entered film industry by playing a role as DAYA in Pasir Berbisik (2001) with the legend of FFI (equal to OSCAR) winner Christine Hakim. Dian was awarded Best actress in Deauville Asian Film Festival and Singapore International Film Festival 2002 for this film.
In 2002, Dian starred Ada Apa Dengan Cinta with Nicholas Saputra. This film was called as the reborn of Indonesian Film Industry. It achieved a huge success in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore and Dian herself was awarded Best Actress FFI (Equal Academy award in Indonesia) 2004, Best actress in Hawaii International Film Festival 2003, Best actress Festival Film Bandung 2003 and Most favorite Actress in Malaysian Film Festival 2003.
In 2005, Dian appeared in Malaysian film Puteri gunung Ledang. Still in 2005, Dian starred Ungu Violet with Rizky Hanggono and Banyu Biru with Tora Sudiro. Her role as Sula in Banyu Biru awarded Most Promising Actress Asia Pacific Film Festival 2005. Meanwhile, her role as Kalin in Ungu Violet awarded Most Favorite Actress in MTV Asia Movie Award Singapore 2005 and Most Favorite Actress MTV Indonesia Movie Awards 2005.
In 2008, Dian played in 3 Doa 3 Cinta as Donna with Nicholas Saputra. Again Dian received several International Awards for this Film such as: Best Supporting Actress in Bali International Film Festival 2009, Silver Award for Most Leading Female Performance in Pusan International Film Festival 2009 and Actress of The Year ELLE Film Magazine USA Award 2009.
In 2009, Dian Played Drupadi with Nicholas Saputra. In this film, Dian was awarded Most Favorite Actress USA Magazine Indonesian Award.
In 2010, Dian played Fana with Dude Herlino and Cinta di Kabut Toba with Nicholas Saputra.
Aside from that, Dian was also the brand icon of Sunsilk, L’oreal and LUX for regional market.
